Panther Labs

Panther Labs Billboard Campaign, Downtown San Francisco, 2022

In this capacity, my role was to take control of and lead a creative team in revitalizing the brand identity of Panther, a cybersecurity unicorn startup aiming to enhance its market presence and carve a unique brand niche in an overcrowded industry. The primary goal was to create a consistent, modern and striking visual identity with messaging that conveyed bold innovation and modern solutions.

Through extensive research and analysis, I immersed myself in Panthers existing branding, studied competitor brands, and engaged in discovery discussions with key stakeholders and customers. This comprehensive approach informed the subsequent content strategy, messaging development, and design phase, which led to multiple concepts that resonated with the company’s values and target audience. After collaborative feedback sessions, we narrowed down to a singular brand and design directions that perfectly captured the essence of Panther with a voice, tone and message that broke through the noise.

The new brand initiatives encompassed a revitalized logo, a vibrant color palette, striking imagery, and bold typography. This transformative brand identity garnered widespread attention from prospects and investors alike, reinforcing Panthers image as a challenger in the industry. The refreshed brand spurred increased business inquiries and concepts helping to secure Series-C funding, contributing significantly to the company’s growth and success while building trust through consistent and familiar brand.

Brand Strategy Development

After conducting thorough research and analysis to understand the competitors, and target demographic, we studied existing branding, gathered insights through data channels, discussions with executives, customer interviews and where there were holes in our value proposition.

Our platform enables Detection-as-Code to deliver the highest-fidelity alerts at cloud scale. You need tools that can keep up with the speed of your business. Panther empowers engineering-minded security teams to increase their threat coverage without adding

Next, we developed new brand values, mission statement, and positioning that aligned to our findings. With these new tools in hand, we developed an aligned content strategy that resonates with our ideal consumer, ensuring the messaging is clear, consistent, and compelling. We focused on communicating the necessity of our product offering in a modern way without cultivating fear as a purchase driver.

Hate SIEMs? You’re not alone. The security landscape is evolving and SIEM must evolve with it. At Panther, we’re redefining the way you detect, contextualize, and respond to threats at scale. Fight attackers, not your SIEM.

During the creative development phase, we created and presented multiple concepts for the brand identity, including logos, color palettes, imagery, and typography, and refined them through executive and board of director feedback sessions.

Once we choose a visual identity, we began planning the implementation of the new brand identity across all platforms, channels, departments and marketing materials.

Finally, we continuously monitored and adjust the strategy based on performance metrics, lead generation, top funnel data, pipeline and feedback to ensure the brand remains relevant and effective in achieving its goals. No brand is set in stone, and we must consistently pivot with data-driven decisions
