I'm a brand and communications executive who has spent a decade inside the cybersecurity industry, building the function from the ground up more than once. My work sits at the intersection most "brand" people never reach: the visual identity and message architecture on one side, the press relationships, analyst positioning, and revenue-linked measurement on the other.
I don't treat PR as a press-release factory and I don't treat brand as a logo refresh. Both exist to do one job: make the market believe something specific and true about the company, consistently, everywhere it looks.
